A local council organization in Rotherham is looking for an Employer Engagement Officer. This role focuses on developing partnerships with employers to create sustainable job opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. The ideal candidate has experience in employer engagement, knowledge of inclusive recruitment practices, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include sourcing job vacancies, delivering workshops, and maintaining records of engagement activities. This is a full-time position offering 37 hours per week.

The Employer Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in creating inclusive employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, health conditions, or other barriers to work. This position focuses on building strong, sustainable partnerships with local employers to promote diversity and equality in the workplace.
The role involves advocating for supported employment principles, educating employers on the benefits of hiring inclusively, and ensuring that job roles are adapted to meet both business needs and individual capabilities.
By working collaboratively with employers, job coaches, and candidates, the Employer Engagement Officer helps remove barriers, implement reasonable adjustments, and foster environments where every individual can thrive.
It is essential that the applicant has a working knowledge of employability issues including training and upskilling.
