Job description

As a Supportability Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Working within Babcock Submarine Support Engineering supporting the function with analysis of design and in-service technical information, providing reports and deliverables in support of contractual obligations. Day-to-day, you will assist the function in the development of maintenance task information, including working with technical design data to populate work books, maintain reports and support the production of Maintenance Task Instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Creating and maintaining technical reports to support the process
  • Escalation and recording of risks to ensure mitigating actions are captured in the ILS Risk Register
  • Producing input data to enable the production of MTI outputs – Maintenance Task Instructions
  • Supporting actions in the development of preventive and corrective maintenance of submarine equipment
  • Passing a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role
  • Performing manual work such as lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time
  • Working comfortably in confined spaces, performing tasks in restricted spaces
  • Working safely at height, performing tasks at varying heights
  • Working a flexible schedule, including weekend shifts, as required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 engineering qualification
  • Experience/knowledge of maintenance tasks
  • Good stakeholder and communications skills
  • A drive to own and shape your career development journey
  • Ex submarine or surface fleet – engineering experience
  • Ability to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance
