Overview

Job Description - Support Workers - Sitting Service - No personal care, Moving and Handling or Medication will be administered by our carers in this role. This work is carried out in blocks of hours by our Companions. Due to the location, a driver is required for our Client.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out a Sitting Service/Companionship service in our Client's own home. We cover the whole of East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire. This work is done in a "block" of hours normally ranging from 2-8hrs at a time.
  • To provide a high standard, person-centred support to clients at all times in a non-judgmental or discriminatory manner
  • Providing a positive and friendly approach to Clients in their own homes and respectful of their wishes at all times with a "can-do" attitude
  • Communicating with our clients at all levels and being able to problem-solve at times to assist them with any concerns
  • Ability to work on own initiative, being reliable and flexible to meet the needs of our Clients
  • Ensure written records maintained and updated where applicable. Be able to write short but comprehensive reports on our Clients when required by the Managing Director in a timely manner
  • Interacting and communicating with the people that you support in a way that promotes dignity, choice and respect at all times
  • Assisting with basic meal preparation for the service users we support
  • Work as part of a team at all times and respectful of the service users’ homes within which you will be working
  • Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the clients, whilst maintaining your own health and safety in accordance with our Health and Safety Regulations
  • To adhere to the Regulatory bodies in Scotland governing our industry – Basic Disclosure Scotland - and to ensure that all relevant training is continued by each Companion as part of this adherence, and to comply with such requests made by Healthcare Plus Recruitment Homecare Services Ltd
  • To be Ambassadors for Healthcare Plus at all times and representatives of Healthcare Plus by providing the highest quality of care at all times, each and every time for our service users
