Job description
Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Support Workers to provide care and support to those who access our day opportunities in the North of the borough.

We offer specialist day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, older people and those with Dementia, across three different locations:

  • Colebrook Centre – B37 5DP
  • 23A Pike Drive – B37 7US
  • Three Trees Community Centre – B37 7TP
Responsibilities

These are permanent roles working Monday to Friday with hours from 32.5 per week to 37 hours per week. As a Support Worker you will work flexibly across the different hubs enriching the lives of service users by organising activities and delivering day opportunities which enables them to make full use of their local community. You will help to develop their independence and promote individual choice and social inclusion, whilst meeting their personal and individual needs. You will work alongside a highly dedicated and enthusiastic team, providing emotional, social and personal support to individuals and groups.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate or equivalent or be willing to complete this within 12 months.
  • Experience of working with people with a learning disability, physical disability, dementia, or older people.
  • Demonstrable good practice which promotes choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
  • The ability to adapt and respond to the constantly changing needs of a group of diverse people whilst demonstrating patience and understanding.
  • The ability to demonstrate sensitivity whilst supporting individuals with their personal care needs.
  • Experience of working effectively as a team member, and with colleagues/other professionals.
