A caring charity organization in York seeks dedicated Support Workers to join their team. You will assist individuals with learning disabilities to live independently and enjoy fulfilling lives. Excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting others are essential. The role includes flexible shifts and offers comprehensive training. A range of benefits, including 32 days of paid holiday, are provided.
We are looking for Support Workers to join our service in York on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours).
We are looking to grow our team of dedicated, caring and enthusiastic support workers. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. You will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality.
As each service is different, so too are the requirements and shift patterns. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays so flexibility is key. Certain services will also have sleep in shifts or Waking Night shifts as well. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
