We are recruiting a team of remarkable people to support Carly. This is what Carly is looking for, in her own words:
Hi, my name’s Carly – I’m a fun-loving, young woman living independently in my own flat close to Wokingham railway station. I have a learning disability and am looking for a Support Worker who has good humour, is upbeat and likes to go out. I build good relationships with people who are firm but fair, keep boundaries and plan in advance what we are doing together.
I would like the same person to support me for you to get to know me and be familiar with my routines, so you must be able to commit to the following days;
I work at Optalis’ Head Office in Wokingham, assisting with admin tasks and inducting new staff. When I’m not working, my interests include;
What I’m looking for in my support worker;
As a Support Worker, your role will be to support me in my day-to-day life with things like cooking, cleaning and shopping. I will need support with personal care (prompting, washing hair, personal tasks) and socialising, including appointments, events and outings.

Experience in the care sector would be beneficial but is not necessary as we provide full training. This includes classroom-based learning for practical skills, online sessions for theory and awareness, and shadowing experienced staff to learn how we do things.
This is a part-time role for an average of 21.5hpw across 2 weeks. For candidates looking for full-time, additional hours may be available from our Independent and Community Living Services.
