Responsibilities

We have a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their family home in Portsmouth. This young man is so much more than his diagnoses; he loves being out and about in the community and he likes to play with his toys on the floor. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care on a 1:1 basis, ensuring compassionate and attentive support tailored to his needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with him in meaningful activities and taking him out in the community to promote social interaction and well-being.
  • Supporting with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence.
  • Maintaining clear and confident communication in his preferred manner to build a strong, trusting relationship.
  • Providing care that accommodates his condition, including hoisting, epilepsy management, and oxygen therapy support as required.
  • Driving locally to support trips and activities (full UK Driving Licence required).
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Local to Portsmouth with the ability to drive a car and hold a FULL UK Driving Licence.
  • Previous experience in Hoisting, Epilepsy, and Oxygen Therapy preferred.
  • Respect for the individual’s needs and a compassionate, empathetic approach.
