Join Us as a Waking Nights Support Worker. Are you someone who leads with kindness, patience, and a genuine desire to help others? Do you find fulfilment in making a real difference, one child and one night at a time? If so, you could be exactly who we’re looking for.
At our welcoming children’s home in Wingrave, we support young people aged 11–19 with autism and severe learning disabilities. As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, calm, and caring environment where our children can rest easy and feel secure through the night.
During the day, the children attend the nearby MacIntyre School, and you’ll be part of a team that ensures their nights are just as nurturing as their days.
Hours: 38 per week, with shifts on a rota including bank holidays and weekends. Part‑time opportunities would also be considered.
If you’re caring, resilient, and eager to learn, we’d love to welcome you to our team, where every night brings the chance to make a lasting difference.
Experience as a care assistant or support worker is not required; we’ll teach you the rest. You will be supported to gain your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (free of charge), alongside other specialist training all provided on site by MacIntyre. The Diploma is a requirement for all Support Workers at our residential children’s homes and you will need to obtain it within two years of starting your employment with us.
MacIntyre is a national charity which supports over 1,200 people with a learning disability and/or autism. We were founded in 1966 by the visionary parent of a child with disabilities and have been growing steadily ever since. We celebrate and develop everyone’s unique gifts, talents and contributions. MacIntyre safeguards and promotes the welfare of the children, young people and adults we support. Therefore we work with successful candidates to complete appropriate checks prior to joining.
MacIntyre is committed to promoting equality, encouraging diversity and embracing inclusion among our workforce. We want our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and the people we support. As part of this commitment, our accessibility toolbar allows you a number of options: read adverts in another language (including Welsh for our Services located in Wales), change the font to Open Dyslexia, change the colours, and many others.
