In order to fulfil and surpass the Care Act of 2014, the goal is to create a secure and caring environment. This is accomplished by attending to the needs of service consumers and, in essence, by advancing their mental and physical health. By taking into account their preferences and getting their input on all issues that impact them, support workers must actively involve service users in the planning of their care. They are supposed to facilitate efficient interagency communication while cooperating for the preferences or best interests of every service user. The position requires someone who is aware of the difficulties that today’s adults with disabilities face.

Responsibilities and Duties

The following are the tasks and obligations that a support worker is supposed to perform:

  • To follow the health and safety policy of Eden Supported Services Ltd. This comprises risk evaluations, health and safety inspections, and cleaning tasks to guarantee that the house is always kept neat and orderly.
  • To inspire and support clients to enhance and preserve their independence while staying within their bounds.
  • To take on roles as a Keyworker or Co-Keyworker.
  • To report any important issue pertaining to service users to the manager, deputy manager, and team leader.
  • To build a positive working connection with the clients.
  • to support service users in creating and sustaining a network of friends, family, volunteers, other organisations, and professionals.
  • To ensure that the residents’ stated needs are met and to endeavour to enhance their standard of living.
  • To make appointments, both medical and non-medical, as required.
  • To keep an eye on and administer medicines in compliance with Eden Supported Services Ltd.’s medication policy.
  • In compliance with Eden Supported Services Ltd.’s food safety policy and as required, to cook and prepare meals for residents in the home.
  • To properly take service consumers’ cultural demands into account.
  • To support local kids as required and in compliance with Eden Supported Services Ltd.’s Lone Working policy.
  • To perform cleaning and other domestic tasks that are not significantly different from those one would typically perform in their own home and in accordance with Eden Supported Services Ltd.’s COSHH and health and safety policies.
  • To actively participate in service users’ weekly planning.
  • To compose and read letters and emails, to make and answer professional phone calls, and to distribute received mail in accordance with the protocol established by Eden Supported Services Ltd.
  • To accurately complete all administrative records in accordance with the organization’s protocol.
  • To monitor, document, and compile data for the creation and execution of person-centred plans, behaviour management plans, skills learning plans, support plans, and risk assessments.

You must be available for shifts on weekdays, weekends, and nights as needed, and you will be expected to work 37.5 hours each week.

You will receive regular, high-quality training and supervision in exchange. You’ll be working for a company that promotes advancement.

They will also contribute to your optional pension plan and provide a minimum of 28 days of vacation time annually.
