Role Purpose

This role supports people in Cornwall with Reablement Care, enabling individuals to return to or remain in their homes and to be as safe and independent as possible.

What you’ll be doing

The Support Worker plays a critical part in helping an individual meet their agreed outcomes. Your work will involve:

  • Working with other professionals, team members, or alone to carry out the care/reablement plan.
  • Promoting flexibility, dignity, respect, wellbeing, confidence, and independence so the person has the best quality of life.
  • Offering safe and appropriate support in a person‑centred way, complying with best practice in health & safety, including basic risk assessments and infection prevention and control.
  • Maintaining accurate and factual records as a legal requirement to evidence and communicate actions and outcomes.
  • Working safely as a lone worker or with another worker to protect and safeguard vulnerable adults.
  • Monitoring health, wellbeing, and progress of service users and reporting concerns or changes to management.
  • Providing assistance with daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and accessing community opportunities.
  • Working in line with diverse community needs to ensure equal access to services and engaging in continuous development and relevant training.

Other Details

Flexible working patterns, paid mileage and overtime available (to be discussed at interview).

Guaranteed Payment

Salary of £23,048 pa (£12.63 per hour). You are paid for a full shift even if a client cancels. Guaranteed paid travel time and mileage at 45p per mile, covering travel and contact time. After a 6‑month probation period you may join our ‘Car Lease Scheme’. Corserv Care pays for your enhanced DBS. Opportunities for permanent employees to work across the organisation on a zero‑hour contract.

Hours

35 hours per week, to be discussed at interview.

Two‑Week Set Working Pattern

Week 1 and Week 2 rolling rota to promote a healthy work‑life balance. Rounds start at 7:00–14:00; evening rounds start at 17:00 and finish at 22:00. Working every other weekend is mandatory.

Locations

Hiring across Cornwall. You will join the nearest Corserv team and base your work near where you live. Some service users will be close to your home; others may require travel.

Training and Development

Full training and continuous development provided: induction may include Care Certificate, Moving and Handling, and Basic Life Support. E‑learning covers mandatory training, TMobile, and care plan training. Job shadowing, team and office support, 1:1 supervision, and annual appraisals are available. Opportunities to achieve Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care qualifications and career pathways within the organisation.

Full uniform, PPE, SMART phone, lone‑working device.
