Qualifications

  • Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, or SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and medical routines.
  • Willingness to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
  • Assist with feeding, wheelchair mobility, and personal care.

Location: North London (N17)

Pay: £101.40 - £115 per day

Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

About the Role

We are working with a specialist SEN provision that supports children and young people with a range of complex medical, physical, and learning needs.

Many of the pupils are non-verbal, require wheelchair assistance, and benefit from a structured, nurturing, and calm learning environment.

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide consistent care, encouragement, and tailored learning support to pupils who thrive on routine and patience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and communication difficulties
  • Assist with feeding, wheelchair mobility, and personal care
  • Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development through structured activities
  • Support teachers and therapists in delivering individual learning and sensory plans
  • Promote independence, engagement, and confidence through positive reinforcement
  • Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment at all times
Requirements
  • Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, or SEN Teaching Assistant (school or residential experience welcome)
  • Understanding of complex SEN or PMLD needs
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and medical routines
  • Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, term-time only)
