Support Worker - Supporting a client in his own home in the Coventry area - 16 hours per week - Car Driver Essential

Are you a friendly, passionate carer with experience in seizure management? We are looking for an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Coventry area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client with epilepsy to lead an individual and independent lifestyle in their own home. As well as providing support with clinical care tasks you will also provide companionship and support to get out in the local community, which could include going for walks, attending cafes, or swimming!

Our small teams of Personal Assistants provide bespoke, person centered care to really make a difference in our clients lives. You’ll only be working with one client which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day.

You will be working as part of a small team on a 1:1 (occasionally 2:1) basis.

You must be a car driver and have your own vehicle with appropriate business insurance in place

Your contracted hours will be: 16 hours per week. This will be 2x shifts a week - days to be confirmed in advance with the clients family so flexibility is essential.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training, and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive to meet their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for:

You must be self motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:

  • Seizure management
  • Autism Awareness
  • Positive behaviour management
  • Personal care, including support with showering, drying and dressing
  • Providing companionship, including getting out in the community (including swimming)
  • Gastrostomy care and administration of prescribed feed, fluid and medication
  • Medication administration

You should also have:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must also have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship
