Job summary

A local support organization in Scotland is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a young man in East Kilbride. This permanent role requires a full driving license, and while experience is welcome, full training will be provided. The successful candidate will assist with personal care, engage in community activities, and ensure a positive environment for the client. The position offers 24 hours per week with a set shift from Friday 10am to Saturday 10am, at an hourly rate of £12.60.

Overview

Support Worker / Personal Assistant for Graham – East Kilbride. We’re looking for a caring, friendly and reliable person to join a small team supporting Graham, a young man living in the East Kilbride area. Graham is non-verbal and requires 1:1 support across a 24-hour shift pattern. Your role will include helping with personal care, day-to-day tasks, and supporting Graham to get out and about in his manual wheelchair—whether that’s attending social activities or enjoying a day trip. He loves being active and engaged in his community, so no two days are quite the same. We’re looking for someone who is sociable, easy-going, and ready to be a positive presence in Graham’s life.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support across a 24-hour shift pattern, including help with personal care and daily tasks.
  • Assist Graham to get out and about in his manual wheelchair, attending social activities or day trips.
  • Support Graham to stay active and engaged in the community.
  • Be a warm, friendly, and positive presence in Graham’s life.
Requirements
  • Full driving licence is essential – you’ll be driving a manual mobility vehicle.
  • Experience is welcome but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • Epilepsy training is desirable, but support and training will be given.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; a warm, friendly nature and genuine desire to work in a caring role.
