Job summary

A private household in Liverpool is looking for a Support Worker/Personal Assistant to assist an adult with Down's syndrome in engaging in social activities. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and dedication. You will provide companionship and support, working a maximum of 25 hours per week at £12.75 per hour. This position requires an enhanced DBS check and the ability to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in caregiving/support work preferred.
  • Basic first aid and emergency response knowledge is a plus.
  • Driving license and access to a car considered advantageous.

About the role

This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact on the life of an adult with Down’s syndrome and associated learning difficulties who requires support to engage in social activities during early evening time and at weekends. The individual is fit, healthy and energetic, lives at home with parents and attends a day centre during the week. You will be working in a supportive environment that values compassion and dedication.

Days and times to be agreed. Job share would be considered. Maximum of 25 hrs per week. £12.75 per hour.

Duties
  • Accompany and assist with transport to social activities, including swimming (excellent swimmer), bowling, theatre, playing pool, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate behaviour management to promote positive interactions.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life.
Essential Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine passion for helping others.
Desirable
  • Previous experience in caregiving/support work.
  • Basic first aid and emergency response protocols.
  • Driving licence and access to a car.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
