About Perthyn

Perthyn is a values‑led, not‑for‑profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities to live meaningful lives in their own homes. We are committed to person‑centred support that promotes independence, choice and belonging. Our values Integrity, Empowerment, Innovation, Accountability, Inclusivity, Belonging, Accomplishment, and Resilience are at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

We’re looking for three compassionate and dedicated female Support Workers to join our team in Nottinghamshire. You will be supporting people across two welcoming homes, one in Retford and one in Worksop. Each home has its own character, shaped by the unique personalities and interests of the people who live there. Your role will be to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives, promote independence and support them to actively engage in their communities.

What you’ll be Doing

You’ll be part of a team that supports people with a variety of interests, routines and health needs. Here is a glimpse into each home:

  • A woman who thrives on sensory experiences, enjoys baking, listening to music and spending time outdoors. She has a special love for butterflies, zoo visits and relaxing picnics in the park. She benefits from consistent, attentive support from two team members at a time to help her feel safe and empowered in her daily life.
  • Full training and guidance will be provided to help you feel confident in supporting her, including understanding autism and mental health and how to offer personal care with dignity and respect.
  • Support includes helping with personal care and medication, always delivered with dignity and respect. You’ll be part of a team that encourages independence while building warm, trusting relationships. Full training will be provided to help you feel confident and equipped to offer the best support possible.
  • Both homes require Support Workers who are flexible, person‑centred and committed to empowering the people we support to live fulfilling lives. You will work with a team that values inclusion, belonging and resilience.
What We Need From You

We are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about supporting people to live their best lives. You do not need previous experience – we will provide full training. What matters most is your attitude and commitment.

Essential
  • A person‑centred, respectful approach
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training
  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep‑ins
  • Ability to travel locally

Desirable
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities
  • QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Your Rewards
  • Competitive Salary – with a generous sleep‑in allowance to boost your earnings
  • Maximise Your Income – earn up to £3,000 extra per year with one sleep‑in shift per week, or £6,000 with two
  • Overtime Opportunities – for example, one extra shift a week could add around £5,000 annually
  • Comprehensive Training – person‑centred and tailored to help you thrive in your role
