You will become part of a team of support workers that delivers person‑centred care that allows individuals access to new opportunities.

Your new role

The role of support worker will consist of supporting adults with learning disabilities in their own or shared home.

You will be involved in the daily living of the individuals, providing personal care when necessary.

A large part of the role is providing individuals with access to the community to participate in leisure activities and appointments.

As a support worker, you have a real chance to have a positive impact on people's lives, promoting independence and improving the standard of living.

Due to the nature of the care provided, you will be operating on a flexible rota that includes a mixture of short days, long days, sleep‑ins and wakeful nights (for which you receive an enhanced rate of pay).

What you will need to succeed
  • Experience in the social care sector is preferred for this role, but you will be provided with an in‑depth and interactive training course prior to starting the role.
  • You must be committed to completing this training and any further training that may be required.
  • Through this, you will be supported to gain qualifications and experience that will assist you in creating a career in social care.
  • It is important that you are friendly and approachable, making it easy to communicate with both those you are caring for and your team.
  • Due to the need for providing access to the community and transporting individuals, driving is essential for this role.
