My Life is looking for a caring and reliable Support Worker / Personal Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting a young man who is neurodiverse and benefits from structured, person‑centred support to live an independent and fulfilling life. He experiences anxiety and needs people around him who can achieve his trust and in whom he can feel confident. He is presently living in a parental home, but in due course it is planned that he will move into a home of his own, intended to be within West Lancashire.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily living activities, outings, meal planning and preparation.
  • Accompany him on community activities such as volunteering at steam railways, cinema trips and walks.
  • Work with him to develop life skills that boost confidence and self‑sufficiency.
  • Build a genuine connection, providing companionship, encouragement and positivity.
  • Monitor health and well‑being, ensuring safety and keeping communication open with his family and the care team.
Qualifications
  • Resilient and non‑judgemental, able to handle stress and anxiety with confidence, patience and resourcefulness.
  • Kind and patient, able to provide calm support.
  • Mature outlook and conduct.
  • Comfortable outdoors, physically fit and willing to join on walks and community activities.
  • Great communication skills, able to connect with the young man, his family and the wider team.
  • Experience supporting people with autism and/or mental health needs, and a willingness to learn.
  • Driver’s licence required.
