Children’s Residential Support Worker – learning difficulties

Salary

From £27,581 per annum (£13.60 per hour) PLUS additional £3k‑£6k per annum for sleep‑ins.

Hours

Full‑time, 39 hours per week. Working a rolling shift pattern which includes long days and additional sleep‑ins.

About Us

Rated GOOD in our July 2025 Ofsted inspection. We are looking for support workers to join our four‑bed Children’s home and be part of an amazing team, supporting young people to reach their full potential and have positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support four young males aged between 12‑18 with learning difficulties such as Autism, Aspergers, ADHD and Global Developmental Delay, alongside behaviours of concern.
  • Provide a bespoke package of care that includes a Positive Behaviour Support lead, specialist team, occupational therapist, SALT and Keys clinical team.
  • Work alongside an Art Therapist and clinical psychologist to give advice and support.
  • Participate in team activities including football, sports, laser tag and gaming.
  • Give emotional and physical support to allow children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
  • Build friendships and trusting relationships.
  • Help children find pleasure in everyday tasks and empower them to make decisions about themselves.
  • Maintain a safe home environment – cleaning, laundry, cooking.
