Job summary

Purple DPSS is seeking a warm, reliable Support Worker to help maintain independence for a client in Smethwick. The role is primarily home-based with occasional outings for shopping and social activities. DBS check is required, right to work and references will be needed.

Part-time, on-site, 5 hours per week with a rate of £12.71 per hour. The successful candidate will provide practical support with household tasks, meal shopping, light gardening, and companionship, helping the client stay safe,

I am a friendly lady with a great sense of humour who loves music, particularly listening to,

studying and recording it. I also enjoy movies, good conversation and spending time in pleasant

I am looking for a kind and reliable support worker to help me maintain my independence at

home. Over time, household tasks and maintaining my garden have become more difficult to

manage on my own, and I would value practical support to help keep my home clean, safe and

comfortable. While most of the role will be based at home, I would also like occasional support to

go shopping, visit garden centres or enjoy a change of scenery in the community.

Hours and Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

Hours: 5 hours per week (hours to be discussed)

What You Would Be Doing

The majority of your role will involve supporting me within my home. This will include helping with

household cleaning, maintaining a tidy living environment, assisting with food shopping and

supporting me with light gardening tasks to help keep my garden manageable.

You will also provide companionship and encouragement, helping me maintain my wellbeing and

independence. From time to time, you may accompany me on outings such as shopping trips,

visits to garden centres or appointments. You may also support me with my interests, including

music, movies and using the computer.

Essential requirements

The Person I Would LikeI am looking for someone who is warm, approachable, patient and reliable, with a positiveattitude and a good sense of humour. Because I enjoy conversation, it is important that you havea good grasp of the English language and are comfortable chatting while providing support.I do not mind whether my support worker is male or female. It would be lovely to find someonewho shares an interest in music and movies and who enjoys providing companionship as well aspractical assistance around the home.This role would suit someone who enjoys helping others maintain their independence and takespride in supporting people in a respectful, person-centred way.
