Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Milton Keynes
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Help students manage their emotions, build self-esteem, and re-engage with learning

  • Support the class teacher in delivering structured and differentiated learning activities

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils using empathy and positive behaviour support strategies

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies

  • Assist with implementing behaviour support plans and encourage restorative approaches

  • Support students both in and out of the classroom, including during break and lunch times

The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or in alternative provisions

  • Be patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure

  • Use positive behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies

  • Be committed to safeguarding, inclusivity, and student wellbeing

  • Work well as part of a supportive team and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families

  • Be flexible, proactive, and resilient in adapting to daily challenges

  • A background in youth work, care work, SEN, or mental health support is desirable
