About this role

We are looking for a Support Worker to join the IHASS team.

Prevention services support vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All these services to help people transition towards leading independent lives.

We will not accept applications where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used to assist with completing the competency questions.

Key responsibilities
  • Providing floating support across six London boroughs to help individuals with rough sleeping histories to sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.
  • Supporting individuals to maximise their income through measures such as benefit optimisation, rent arrears reduction, and debt management assistance.
  • Enhancing the resilience of individuals using our services by developing independent living skills and connecting them with education, training, and employment opportunities to support long‑term, sustainable independence.
  • Improving individuals’ quality of life through close collaboration with health and wellbeing services, including mental health, substance misuse, and probation support.
  • Referring individuals to appropriate external support services.
  • Carry a client caseload.
What you will have
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals to sustain accommodation and achieve housing stability.
  • Confidence and be capable working independently within a floating support service.
  • Skills in producing clear, accurate, and high-quality case notes and documentation.
  • Effective communication with strong active listening skills.
  • Experience in operating across six London boroughs and collaborate with relevant agencies to connect individuals with appropriate support.
  • Commitment to empowering individuals by building confidence and developing independent living skills.
