Eden Futures is recruiting Support Workers across our Supported Living services, helping adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs live as independently as possible in their own homes and in the community.

We offer training, development plans, Care Certificate pathways, and apprenticeships. Benefits include a £12.71 hourly rate (about £27,758.64 per year for a 42-hour week) and a £500 refer-a-friend bonus. We value people, culture, and recognition.

*Roles are paid at an hourly rate of £12.71 - equating to an annual salary of £27,758.64 based on a 42 hour working week. The annual salary shown is as a per annum equivalent for illustration purposes only, this will be pro rata'd based on hours worked.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support service users to lead a full and active life in line with their wishes and choices, considering their assessed needs and individual support and care plans, participating in the development of plans where applicable

• Caring and compassionate, having a genuine passion for wanting to help our service users lead a full and active life to enable them to achieve as much independence as possible
• We understand that not everyone has experience of working in the care sector, and that’s why we recruit individuals based on their values
• Ability to remain positive when there are challenging days - you have the chance to positively influence how someone feels and that is no small thing
• You’ll enjoy working as part of team as well as using your own initiative, and have a willingness to support your colleagues when needed

The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.

Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website. It’s a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with vulnerable adults.
