Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide essential support to a client in the Stockton area. The client is a young person with mobility issues who would like to explore new interests and experiences. They currently do not require personal care, but this may change in the future. Primary duties include supporting mobility, accompanying the client to activities, and assisting with daily tasks to promote independence.

Essential Criteria
  • Driving Skills: A car driver with a clean driving licence is essential, as driving responsibilities are integral to the role. Ability to assist with mobility aids (eg walker) and understanding of mobility issues.
  • Equality and diversity: An inclusive attitude of acceptance and an open mind.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of mental health issues, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergence, and disability is preferred. Training can be provided to the right candidate.
  • Background Check: A clean enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check must be provided on successful application.
  • Comfort with Cats: Candidates must be comfortable around cats, as there is a cat in the client\'s home.
  • Communication: Good verbal communication skills with an understanding of body language. An empowered approach to support focusing on strengths. A patient attitude to allow the client time to process thoughts and feelings.
  • Confidentiality: A strong understanding of confidentiality is essential.
  • Flexibility: Openness to travelling and willingness to undertake overnight work when necessary.

As a Personal Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
