Mencap in Northallerton is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our 24/7 care team. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) involves helping people live independently, manage budgets, and participate in community activities while promoting choice and dignity.

You will build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and remain flexible to shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A compassionate attitude toward individuals with learning disabilities is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

Responsabilités

• Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking healthy meals.
• Excellent communication and relationship building to support people to understand the world around them and promote positive relationships.
• Support individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
• Personal care support, including prompting medication and assisting with bathing or bathroom needs where required.
