Job summary

Almond Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Supported Living services in Birmingham. You will provide compassionate care to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs, including personal care, medication assistance, and daily tasks.

Travel between B27 and B28 may be required; a valid UK driving licence is essential. This role offers full training, Care Certificate, and clear progression paths within a growing company that values independence and community

Qualifications

• Experience with challenging behaviours in a supported living context.
• Residing in or near Birmingham B27 or B28 or able to commute reliably.
• Compassionate, flexible and ready to make a difference.
• Eager to learn and grow in healthcare.
• Paid annual leave pro rata.
• Monthly rolling rotas for stability.
• Full training and Care Certificate provided.
• Specialist career pathways in complex care.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of care to adults with challenging behaviour.
• Assist with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Support healthcare needs and monitor health (medication, temp checks).
• Encourage hobbies, skills development and employment.
• Develop and follow focused support plans.
• Be a role model and build rapport with individuals.
• Log shifts accurately and notify manager of changes.
• Collaborate with doctors and therapists to ensure consistency of support.
