Job summary

A community support organization in Walsall is seeking dedicated support workers to empower children and young people through practical and emotional assistance. You will promote their health and well-being, facilitate activities aligned with their individual support plans, and carry out general housekeeping duties. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and adaptability, with experience in challenging behavior or learning disabilities preferred. Training will be provided. This role involves working on a rota basis, including days and nights.

About You

The Role

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos, support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower young people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone's individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the children and young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitate social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as, possibly, elements of personal care.
  • Complete a range of records and documents.
  • Work days and nights on a rota basis.
