Job Role: Support Worker / Children's Residential Home
Location: Burnley
Salary: £12.60 per hour plus additional £62.64 per sleep‑in (working approx. 4–8 sleep‑ins per month, an additional £3,000–£6,000 per annum)
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential in this role.
What do you need?
- Great communication skills, fun, positive and energetic.
- Experience and qualifications in children’s care or transferable skills such as children’s nursery, sport, education or early years experience.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and be a role model.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Work flexibly in caring for the children – this will include shifts and sleep‑ins.
As a therapeutic support worker you will:
- Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a registered manager.
- Act as a positive role model to give encouragement and praise.
- Enjoy fun days out such as swimming, trampolining, football, dance and revisit missed milestones.
- Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
- Build friendships and trusting relationships.
- Help them find pleasure in everyday tasks.
- Empower them to make decisions about themselves.
