Job description

As a Support Worker in Bridgend, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. As a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Support Worker
Location: Bridgend
Hours:

We have full-time hours (maximum 40 hours per week). Please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern could include weekends and sleep-ins.

Salary:

£12.74 per hour, sleep-in shifts at £60 per night, and travel expenses paid at 45p per mile.

Contract:

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and setting their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or bigger decisions such as where to live, how to manage finances, or holiday plans.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including participating in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to make every day remarkable by enhancing well-being and focusing on small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. This person-centred support makes the role rewarding and fun for the right person.

Who we are looking for:

No experience required as full training is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have patience and empathy
  • Can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Are able to speak on behalf of others and to professionals
  • Have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
  • Have a full driving licence — essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities
