Job summary

A UK-based support services provider is seeking Support Workers for a long-term position in Workington, Cumbria. In this role, you will assist a young gentleman in living independently by supporting him with personal and social activities. The position involves flexible shift patterns, including weekends, with training opportunities available. Ideal candidates will have competencies in First Aid, medication training, and awareness of autism and learning disabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing support for individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
• Strong interpersonal skills to assist clients in personal and social activities.
• Awareness of sensory processing and autism.
• Understanding of moving and handling techniques.
• Knowledge of learning disabilities and inclusive care.
• Experience with de-escalation and positive intervention.
• Commitment to supporting independent living.

Responsibilities

• Support a young gentleman to live independently in his home.
• Assist with personal and social activities as needed.
• Work within a staffing ratio of 2:1.
• Cover 8am–8pm and 8pm–8am shifts as needed.
• Maintain a caring, patient, and respectful approach.
• Document care and report changes to supervisors.

Overview

We are looking for Support Workers to pick up a line of work in Workington Cumbria. Working with a young gentleman who needs support to live independently in his own home. Support client to carry out personal and social activities. Activities vary day to day.

Staffing and Shifts

Staffing Ratio: 2:1

Shift Pattern / Schedule: Rolling Rota will be put in place, including every other weekend. Shifts will be 8am-8pm, 8pm-8am.

Long term placement, regular work and flexible shifts.
