Job summary

A leading social care organization in Urmston is seeking an experienced support worker to assist three young men with autism in their daily activities. This role includes helping with personal care, meal preparation, and promoting independent living skills. A positive attitude and experience with complex behavioral needs are essential. Job description

You will be supporting 3 young men in their early 20s who love going out on their bikes, playing badminton, swimming, going to the cinema, baking and arts & crafts.

The people we support have autism, communication difficulties and can display behaviours of distress.

An active, outgoing & determined support worker with a positive attitude would be a wonderful match.

What will I be doing?
  • You will be supporting the young men to live their lives how they choose and to achieve their goals.
  • You’ll be involved in helping to increase their independent living skills, especially when getting involved around home.
  • One individual will require a lot of visuals to prepare for their activities.
  • You will be supporting the gentlemen with their personal care (varying degrees of independence), meal preparation, medication administration, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • The young men can experience behaviours of distress at times, and whilst person-centred training will be provided, you will need to have some previous experience supporting people with complex behavioural needs to be a good match for their team.

Days Shifts: 9am - 3pm
Afternoon Shifts: 3pm - 9pm
Long Day Sleep-In: 9am - 10pm, sleep in then 8am - 9am follow on shift (Weekends)
Afternoon Sleep-In: 3pm - 10pm, sleep in then 8am- 9am the following day (Weekdays)

We're looking for people to work a combination of shifts on a rota covering both weekdays and weekends. Rotas are provided 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work / life balance.
