Job summary

Salutem Care and Education is recruiting for a dedicated Support Worker to join The Mowhay in Cornwall. You will provide person-centred support to adults in residential services, promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing, following care plans and PBS strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support to individuals, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing in line with care plans and PBS plans.
  • Encourage independence, life skills, and participation in education, employment, volunteering and community activities.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, continence care, and use of specialist equipment where required.
  • Monitor needs, attend appointments, promote healthy lifestyles, and maintain accurate records.
  • Administer and manage medication safely following policies and training.
  • Follow PBS strategies and support individuals during distress while promoting least restrictive practices.
  • Safeguard individuals by identifying concerns and promoting rights, dignity and protection from harm.
  • Maintain a safe, clean living environment and support daily household tasks and health and safety standards.
  • Complete accurate documentation including daily notes, incidents, health records and financial records.
  • Support budgeting, personal finances and accessing benefits where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

The Mowhay is a 5-bed residential home, Set in four acres of attractive grounds, in beautiful Cornwall. We don't just provide care , we support people to achieve their goals and aspirations while living their best lives!

We’re looking for new work-family members to help the individuals we support fulfil their dreams and help them thrive in all they want to do. The individuals we support enjoy many activities such as visiting the Eden Project, National Trust Galleries, Hall for Cornwall and coastal Walks, There's lots of beautiful gardens we love visiting and taking in all the sights and sounds. We love to take trips into the local town and visit the coffee shops for a catch up too.
