Job description

At Dimensions UK, we're looking for Support Workers to join our team, working 8 hours per week. You'll find flexibility, great training, and a supportive team environment here at Dimensions UK. You'll be supporting one gentleman in his 60s, with learning disabilities, who enjoys being out and about every day. He loves swimming, going to the cinema, eating out, shopping, and attending local clubs and classes. Family is especially important to him, so you'll also help him stay connected through FaceTime and meeting relatives. This role involves full support with personal care, manual handling, and mobility needs. You'll use equipment such as a wheelchair, Sara Steady, shower chair, and profile bed, and you'll also support with medication and health appointments. Because of his dietary requirements, you'll receive essential training in food and drink preparation and SALT plans.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be patient, compassionate, and values-driven, with a willingness to get involved in the hobbies he enjoys. A full UK manual driving licence and access to your own car are essential, as the location isn't accessible by public transport. You'll also be responsible for driving a mobility vehicle.

Dimensions is one of the UK's largest not-for-profit organisations supporting people with learning disabilities and autism. We're proud to have been recognised as a Great Place to Work and we put the people we support, and their families, at the heart of everything we do.

  • An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
