A reputable healthcare provider in Taverham is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to provide high-quality care to a gentleman with learning disabilities and autism. Your role will involve engaging him in meaningful activities, promoting social interaction, and assisting with day-to-day tasks. Candidates must have experience in care, hold a valid UK Driving Licence, and demonstrate empathy and understanding. This position offers a pay rate of £13.65 per hour for 36 hours a week, with opportunities for ongoing training and development.
Support Worker
Pay rate: £13.65 per hour
Shift Pattern: 36 hours per week - Monday to Sunday (8am - 8pm and 8pm - 8am)
We’ve got a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with a gentleman living in their own home in Taverham. This person has learning disabilities, autism, bi-polar disorder, and behaviours that challenge but this does not define them. More interestingly he enjoys sports, bike riding, puzzles, painting and colouring, games, storytelling, darts and wrestling. To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to Taverham and know the area, and can drive a car, holding a full UK Driving Licence.
Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person’s life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:
In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a 3:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include engaging with them in meaningful activities and taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being. Additionally, you will support with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence. Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner will be essential to building a strong and trusting relationship.
