A well-respected charity in St Albans seeks a compassionate Support Worker to empower individuals with learning disabilities. The role involves building supportive relationships and assisting with daily routines aligned with personal support plans. You will help individuals live as independently as possible and engage in activities such as volunteering and hobbies. Our support workers are the heart of everything we do. We want you to empower the people we support to live their lives how they want to, whether that’s travelling the world or spending time in their local park! All we ask is that you have the commitment and drive to encourage and guide the people we support to make this happen.
This position is all about building relationships with the people you will be supporting while helping them with their day-to-day routine in line with their personal support plans such as dressing, personal care, finances, medication, attending any appointments along with employment, volunteering and hobbies.
Build supportive relationships with individuals and help them with day-to-day tasks in line with their personal support plans. Assist with activities related to employment, volunteering, and hobbies; support individuals to live as independently as possible.
Who will you be supporting?
We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join one of our busy residential care services in St Albans. We currently provide support to eleven individuals who have a range of needs and disabilities but are united by a love of life and in most cases music. Our mission is to help those individuals make life happen, and our Support Workers are a key part of that aim.
Previous experience working with Learning Disabilities is highly desirable
