Job Description :

Homecare Gurus Ltd is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide vital support to individuals in their homes or care facilities, helping them with daily activities and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Assisting with daily living : This includes helping with personal care (bathing, dressing), household tasks (cleaning, laundry), meal preparation, and budgeting.
  • Promoting independence : Teaching life skills such as using public transport, managing finances, and participating in household duties.
  • Health and wellbeing support : Helping individuals manage medical needs, such as administering medication and attending appointments with healthcare professionals.
  • Social and emotional support : Providing emotional support to individuals and their families, and helping them connect with others and participate in community activities.
  • Goal-oriented support : Working with individuals to set and achieve personal goals, whether short-term, like learning to cook a meal, or long-term, like attending college.
  • Advocacy : Acting as an advocate for the individual, helping them express themselves and make their own choices.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Support Worker or in a similar healthcare role is preferred.
  • Valid UK Driver's License
  • Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Mandatory training certifications in areas such as first aid, health and safety, and safeguarding.
