Job summary

A leading children's care provider in Runcorn is seeking a Support Worker for the Children's Residential Home. You will play an essential role in creating a safe and loving environment for children and young people. Responsibilities include providing emotional support, being a positive role model, and engaging in various fun activities. Support Worker / Children's Residential Home.

Salary

£12.60 per hour PLUS additional: £62.64 per sleep‑in (working approx. 4‑8 sleep‑ins per month, an additional £3,000‑£6,000 P/A)

Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential.
  • Great communication skills, fun, positive and energetic.
  • Experience and qualifications in children’s care or transferable skills such as children’s nursery, sport, education or early years experience.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and be a role model.
  • Need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep‑ins.
Responsibilities
  • Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a registered manager.
  • Act as a positive role model to give encouragement and praise.
  • Enjoy fun days out such as swimming, trampolining, football, dance and revisit missed milestones.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
  • Build friendships and trusting relationships.
  • Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks.
  • Empower them to make decisions about themselves.
