Job summary

A nationwide care provider is looking for a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant in Redbourn to support a client with severe vascular dementia and heart conditions. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support a client with vascular dementia and heart disease.

Job Title: Care Assistant/ Support worker

Location: St. Albans

Pay: £15

Shifts: Day and Nights and some weekends

Contract: Full time (2-3 shifts)

Skills: Dementia 1+ experience

About the Role

As a Care Assistant you will be supporting a lady with vascular dementia, unspecified with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. She also has heart disease, heart failure, atrial. She is very active and walks her dog daily, but her dementia is very severe, she experiences dizziness, hallucinations, and paranoid delusions with the inability to recognise family members and word finding difficulties.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Going for a walk daily with her and dogs;
  • Being always active and with service user
  • Supporting with meal preparation and feeding, where necessary
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs (after training)
  • Offering companionship and emotional support
  • Prompting or assisting with medication (where required and trained)
  • Following care plans and reporting changes or concerns to the care team
  • Promoting independence and quality of life for the service user
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care. Ideally, you will have:

  • A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience.
  • Complex Care experience preferred, but not a mandatory need.
