You will work with children, young people and families across clinic, educational and community settings to deliver clinical care tasks and support strategies.

Job Purpose An exciting prospect has arisen for a Clinical Support Worker to work within the Specialist Nursing Service at Redgrave Childrens and Young Peoples Centre.The successful candidate will work in partnership with families and professionals, delivering both clinical care tasks and behaviour, sleep, continence support strategies to make a positive difference to individuals and families. The post holder will also support the delivery of the Neurodiversity Early Awareness pathway, including assisting with the coordination of information, engagement with families and professionals, and supporting clinicians with pathway-related activities. Part of the role will be facilitating workshops both on TEAMS and in person. Training, clinical support and induction will be offered to support this process.You will work with children, young people and families and delivering care in clinic, educational and other community settings as the need arises.The successful candidate needs to be able to communicate and organise effectively, prioritise tasks, be methodical in their thinking and continually exercise their initiative.This is a fabulous opportunity that awaits an enthusiastic team player who is eager for a new challenge and has a passion to make a difference! We would expect the successful candidate to have experience of working with children and young people and excellent interpersonal skills. Main Duties & Responsibilities To work directly with families identified as needing support. To liaise with the family and multidisciplinary team when delivering support and seek appropriate support and supervision. To take an active role in workshops with parents (online and in person) providing advice, support, and administrative support. To keep accurate and contemporaneous records consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures. To guide families to appropriate Universal support. To support the Neurodiversity Early Awareness pathway by assisting with administrative and clinical support activities, gathering and sharing information as directed, and supporting families and professionals throughout the process. To act as a chaperone for child protection medicals as required. To take part in service development projects as required. To deliver Qb testing on a regular basis. Training will be available. To take blood pressure and pulse readings, and complete growth monitoring for children and young people. Training will be available. To ensure clinical spaces are well equipped and ready to use. To ensure all equipment used in the clinic setting is safe, serviced, and appropriate for use. Safeguarding Clause The trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Rigorous recruitment checks are carried out and where applicable to the role successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal records check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Infection Control The trust staff are responsible for protecting themselves and others against infection risks. All staff regardless of whether clinical or not are expected to comply with current infection control policies and procedures and to report any problems about this to their managers. All staff undertaking patient care activities must attend infection control training and updates as required by the trust. All clinical staff or any staff working in clinical areas are expected to be bare below the elbow with no hand or wrist jewellery except for one plain band (no stones or engraving) Health and Safety Employees must be aware of the responsibilities placed upon them under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), to ensure the agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors. To ensure that the trusts Health and Safety Policies are understood and observed and that procedures are followed. To ensure the appropriate use of equipment and facilities and the environment is maintained in good order. To take the necessary precautions to safeguard the welfare and safety of themselves, patients, staff and visitors, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act. To undertake appropriate Health and Safety training to support safe working practice including, where appropriate, its management. General All staff are required to respect confidentiality of all matters that they learn as a result of the employment with the trust, including matters relating to other members of the staff and members of the public/patients. Maintain appropriate patient and clinical records in line with the trusts policies and procedures, and in line with the agreed service specification. The post holder will be expected to participate in an annual appraisal of their work where the job description will be reviewed and objectives set. In line with the annual personal development plan the post holder will be expected to undertake any training or development required to fulfil their role. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure of Barring Service to be made to check for any previous criminal convictions.
