Overview

Job Title: Support Worker for Adults with Learning Disabilities

Location: Liverpool 6 (Residential Care Home & Supported Accommodation Setting)

Hours: 20 and 30 hour per week contracts available

Salary: £12.30 per hour

Immediate Start Available

We are also willing to accept bank staff depending on experience and confidence.

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and associated mental health needs. This is a rewarding role, ideal for someone with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to service users in all aspects of their daily life, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Assist with personal care tasks in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Encourage and support individuals to live according to their preferences, promoting their individuality, skills, and abilities.
  • Support service users in a non-restrictive way, helping them to take positive risks and make informed decisions.
  • Work with service users to achieve personal outcomes, setting goals and action steps for success.
  • Supporting service users to access the community.
  • Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, household chores, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Promote social inclusion by facilitating access to community activities and encouraging positive relationships.
  • Support service users with medical and health needs as required, including medication administration following proper procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including care plans, follow risk assessments, and daily reports.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all service users at all times.
  • Work as part of a dedicated and professional team to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Attend meetings, training, and development sessions to ensure skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
Essential Criteria
  • Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities or in a care-related setting is preferred but not essential. We are willing to consider applicants with the right attitude and passion for the role.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships with service users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to think on your feet and make decisions.
  • Flexibility and a positive approach to meeting the needs of service users.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience supporting individuals with Downs Syndrome, Autism, Dementia and learning disabilities.
  • Full training provided.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and best practice in social care.

£12:30 per hour

20 and 30 hours permanent contracts per week (Days, Evenings, Weekends & Set rate Sleep in Shifts)
