A leading support organization in Leicester seeks a compassionate Support Worker to help individuals with learning disabilities live joyful lives. The role involves a variety of daily tasks, compassionately assisting clients in their routines and community activities. A UK manual driving licence is required. The organization offers comprehensive training, six weeks' annual leave, and several employee benefits, including a pension scheme and health cash plan.
We're a tight-knit team supporting six wonderful people with learning disabilities, aged 24 to 56, across three houses in Leicester. Each person brings their own personality, routines, and aspirations, making our time spent together truly meaningful.
That's where you come in – your role is to unlock opportunities for people to live a gloriously ordinary life on their own terms, staying connected with their families, friends and communities, and exploring new experiences along the way.
A snapshot of your day:
You might start your morning supporting a football-loving, trampoline-bouncing young man who is bursting with energy and never turns down a throwback 90s playlist. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude could be just what he needs to start the day off right.
Or you might be helping someone get ready for the day, making sure they feel confident and put-together because looking good matters to them.
Take Sarah, for example. She has a great eye for style and loves the little details. She is autistic and thrives with calm, patient and clear communication. Walking far isn’t easy for her, so your UK manual driving licence will help her enjoy the world beyond her neighbourhood – from shops and salons to parks and coffee spots. It’s all about supporting her to live life in a way that makes sense to her: with style, independence, and joy.
Your days will be busy and you’ll never be short of variety. Our goal is to make you feel right at home, too. You’ll join an experienced, supportive team that’s always ready to help each other out. We offer excellent training, and with our strong Positive Behaviour Support plans we create an inclusive environment where everyone’s voice and needs matter.
If you’re compassionate, patient, and excited about supporting people to live life to the fullest, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and be part of something truly rewarding! You must have a UK manual driving licence and be prepared to drive adapted cars. We can only progress applications from female candidates for this role.
We’re looking for someone keen to work full‑time (37.5 hours per week) and flexible to cover a rota that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends. While experience as a care assistant or support worker is welcome, it isn’t essential. If you share our values, are warm, friendly, and eager to learn, you could be the perfect fit. We celebrate diversity and strive to make sure everyone on our team feels included, valued, and respected. You bring your enthusiasm; we’ll provide the training.
