"What we do changes lives in small but powerful ways." Our team sees the impact of their kindness every day. If you lead with empathy and want to support people in living confidently and independently, we would love to hear from you.
A home, not just a service. Our Wharfedale House service is home to sixteen adults with physical disabilities. Our service feels like family – relaxed, supportive, and centred around the people who live here. Every day brings new moments to celebrate: from small wins in independence to big laughs over mealtimes.
40.5 hours per week over 4 days per week.
You will need to be flexible to work all shifts including on weekends as part of a rota.
As well as supporting your wellbeing and career development, we offer a fantastic benefits package, including:
From 1 December 2025 new enhancement rates of £1.00 per hour apply only to night working (8pm – 8.30pm) and weekend working (8pm Friday – 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep‑Ins.
No previous care experience? No problem – we will give you all the training you need.
We are one of the UK’s highest‑rated providers of care and supported living services – 87% of our services are rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by regulators.
For over 75 years, we support disabled people to live, learn, and work as independently as possible. We provide specialist support across residential care, supported living, and respite services for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, sensory impairments, and learning disabilities.
Our goal is simple: to create welcoming, safe, and empowering spaces that feel like home – giving people real choice and control over their lives.
Leonard Cheshire welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We actively encourage applications from people with disabilities and will support your requirements for reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk. A satisfactory disclosure check (PVG membership in Scotland) is required for this post, and references will be obtained for all roles.
