Job summary

LinkLiving in Scotland is seeking a Support Worker for the Fife Service. The role involves providing emotional, practical and social support to help people live as independently as possible, within a trauma-informed team and person-centred approach. Location is Kirkcaldy with Fife-wide duties and flexible shifts from early morning to evening.

No prior experience is required; training and support are provided, and the role emphasises empathy, respect, integrity and caring for service users.

Job title: Support Worker (Fife Support Service) this role has no Personal Care or Medication Administration duties

Location: The office base of the position is West Bridge Mill, Kirkcaldy but the location is Fife Wide and requires lone working and double ups in the community.

Hours of Work: A variety of flexible Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities are available. Working hours can range from 7:00am to 9:30pm, Monday to Sunday, with contracted hours dependent on the role (full-time, part-time, or anything in between). Specific working patterns, shifts, and availability requirements will be discussed at interview.

Potential shift patterns may include:

  • 7:00am to 9:00am
  • 4:30pm to 9:30pm
  • 7:00am to 9:00am and 4:30pm to 9:30pm (split shift)
  • Other shift patterns within the operating hours of 7:00am to 9:30pm, as agreed

The Service

This service provides individually tailored visiting support to people with a range of complex needs living across Fife. This is a long-term goal orientated service with individual support packages funded through social work spot contracts.

The service is always exploring new business and collaborating with external organisations on pilot projects, your role will be incorporated in the planning and delivery of any new services and projects.

The Job

In this role, you will be supported to work using a person centred and trauma informed approach and develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of problems, supporting them to cope in difficult times and working towards a good life. You will provide emotional, practical and social support to enable people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives. Your role may involve liaising with other agencies that may be involved with the person you are supporting, advocating on their behalf, and accessing professional help if required and appropriate.

Delivering Personal Care and Administration of Medication are not part of this role.

Successful applicants will be required to apply for registration with SSSC within 3 months of their start date and be registered within 6 months.

This role is subject to PVG membership under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Individuals who are barred from working with children or protected adults will not be considered for this position. Link will meet the cost of any new PVG scheme membership or membership update.
