Join Our Team as a Creative Support Worker in Kidderminster!

Location: Kidderminster, DY10 (Just a 4min drive from the Kidderminster Train Station)

Pay Rate: £12.64 per hour (£50 per Sleep-In Shift)

Position: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Requirements: Full UK Manual Driving Licence

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You’ll be supporting a wonderful group of four individuals—two females and two males—aged 60-80, each with their unique personalities and needs. They live with autism, epilepsy, learning disabilities, and cerebral palsy, and one lady is partially sighted. Despite these challenges, they are full of life and enjoy a wide range of activities:

  • Exploring New Adventures: From spontaneous drives and picnics to plane-watching and attending air shows.
  • Creative Pursuits: They love gardening, arts and crafts, and participating in cooking classes where they can hone their skills.
  • Sensory Experiences: Enjoying sensory rooms, hydro pools, and Snoezelen sessions to stimulate and relax.
  • Social Time: They love spending time together over a cup of tea and engaging in activities that promote their independence and self-confidence.
What Will You Be Doing?

As a Support Worker, your role will be diverse, creative, and rewarding. Your responsibilities include:

  • Empowering Independence: Assist with personal care, stoma care, medication administration (including epilepsy buccal), and daily living activities while respecting each individual's spatial awareness and personal preferences.
  • Engaging in Activities: Plan and participate in outings and activities that cater to their interests, such as drives, arts and crafts, and sensory sessions.
  • Providing Care: Offer 1:1 support, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and encouraged in all aspects of their lives.
  • Flexible & Forward-Thinking: Adapt to the varying needs of those you support, thinking creatively to enhance their day-to-day experiences.
  • Building Strong Relationships: Develop a trusting bond with the individuals and maintain close contact with their families, ensuring open communication and a supportive environment.
Shift Patterns
  • Morning Shifts: 7:30am - 3:00pm | 8:00am - 3:30pm
  • Afternoon/Evening Shifts: 2:00pm - 9:30pm | 2:30pm - 10:00pm
  • Evening Shifts with Sleep-Ins: 3:00pm - 10:30pm, followed by a sleep-in until 7:30am

Sleep-ins are required, and rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.
