A local support service in Ipswich is searching for compassionate Support Workers to assist in daily living and community activities. Candidates should have a full UK driver's license and knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). The role involves providing hands-on support and fostering friendships while maintaining dignity for the individual. I’m looking for support workers who have a good sense of humour, are enthusiastic and dedicated as well as compassionate to support me. I am non-verbal and require assistance with my mobility.
You need to be physically able to work with me on the floor and take me for long walks in the country. I love a variety of other activities including art and craft, swimming, singing, bowling and music to name a few. I have 2:1 staffing during the day due to manual handling and 1 at night.
I would like my support workers to be excellent at reading body Language, giving me space but still interacting with me and being fun and playful but not loud and in my personal space all the time.
This role requires hands‑on support in all daily living aspects and a proactive approach. Positive Behaviour Support in place to support this young man develop friendships while maintaining his family and existing relationships in place.
A UK full manual / automatic driver’s licence is essential as it involves driving a mobility car.
The support Staff will require knowledge of PBS to provide Supporting to go out on activities within the community, Be creative and innovative with new ideas. They will also require knowledge of PBS.
