The support you provide will change with everyone you work with because everyone is different.

Supporting people in their daily lives is varied and could include helping someone develop new skills, providing personal and emotional support, helping people plan and manage their own home, support with leisure, employment, individual interests and travel. This can be a fun and rewarding but also at times challenging and demanding role. You may be supporting people in their own home or out and about in their community.

Responsibilities
  • Support adults with a learning disability using a person-centred approach.
  • Help create innovative ways to support individuals to achieve personal goals, aims and ambitions.
  • Support daily living activities, including developing new skills, personal and emotional support, planning and managing home, leisure, employment, interests and travel.
  • Work in varied settings, including in clients’ homes or in the community.
  • Adapt support to each individual’s needs and preferences.

  • No previous experience or qualifications required; free, Skills for Care endorsed full training will be provided.
  • Compassionate, caring, confident and resilient.
