Job description
  • 4 days per week / 30 hours (typically 9am – 5pm: flexibility: Occasional evening virtual work or weekend travel for events).
  • Location: Remote, with some UK travel and occasional overnight stays.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional Access Worker to provide high-quality practical and administrative support to the Events Manager of a national charity who is registered blind.

This role is about empowerment and equality at work. You will play a vital part in enabling a visually impaired professional to deliver inclusive events that bring together young people, families, and professionals from across the UK. By removing access barriers through practical and administrative support, you’ll help ensure accessibility is an enabler of success, not a limitation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide general administrative and organisational support including diary management, note-taking, digital filing.
  2. Manage and update databases and CRM systems, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
  3. Prepare materials, presentations and reports for meetings, workshops and events.
  4. Support with online systems such as Zoom, Google Suite and shared drives.
  5. Provide remote technical assistance for ICT tasks (e.g. document formatting, proof reading, managing attachments, setting up virtual meetings).
  6. Research to support logistical planning e.g. travel planning, finding venues,.
  7. Accompany the employer to meetings and events across the UK as needed (travel and overnight stays may occasionally be required).
  8. Drive the employer to work-related meetings and events, using your own vehicle.
  9. Provide sighted guide and visual information and environmental descriptions as required — for example, describing the layout of a room, helping to locate key individuals during networking opportunities, or sharing relevant observations about event attendees (such as if someone is sitting alone or missing).
  10. Perform any other reasonable duties to support the employer in carrying out her professional responsibilities.
