Job summary

Thera Trust is seeking a compassionate Support Worker in the East Anglia region to support adults with learning disabilities in daily life. You will provide personal and emotional support, encourage independence, and help plan activities and travel in the community or at home.

This permanent role offers full-time and part-time hours, a pay rate of £13.30 per hour, annualised leave, training, pension, and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Willing to work a 24/7 rota including early/late shifts and weekends.
  • Confident with IT and able to access a device for digital timesheets and e-learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal and emotional support to adults with learning disabilities.
  • Help individuals plan and participate in activities, travel, and daily living tasks.
  • Adapt communication to each person’s needs and promote independence and wellbeing.

Every person you support is different, so the support you provide will vary from person to person.

Day-to-day, this could include helping someone develop new skills, offering personal and emotional support, or supporting them to plan and manage their own home. You might also help with leisure activities, employment, personal interests, and travel.

It's a role that can be fun and rewarding, and at times challenging and demanding - often in equal measure. You could be supporting people in their own home or out and about in their community.
