Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co in Bridgend is hiring a Female Support Worker to help people we support live fulfilled, independent lives. You will assist with everyday choices, personal care, and small tasks in the community, with emphasis on dignity and respect.

Hours include part-time and full-time shifts, with sleep-ins; salary is £13.59 per hour, sleep-ins £60 per night, and travel at 55p per mile. No experience required as full training is provided, and you’ll join a cooperative values-led team

As a Female Support Worker in Bridgend,you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support.

We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilitiesto live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Role:Female Support Worker

Location:Bridgend

Hours: We have both part time(minimum 10hours per week) and full time hours (maximum 40hours per week), please speak to us about the hours you are looking to do. Your shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins

Salary:£13.59per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night and our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract:Permanent

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll actively support individuals in making their own choices and set their own goals — whether it’s everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, or something bigger such as where to live, how to manage their finances, or where to go on holiday.

As a trusted Support Worker, you'll empower people to follow through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills. You’ll also offer practical support to help them meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining their homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.

Your goal is to makeeveryday remarkablethrough enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support every day, this truly is a fun and rewarding role for the right person.

• are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
• have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
• have afull driving licence - essentialfor transporting individuals to appointments and activities
• have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
