Job summary

National Care Group is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist young adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in Basildon, Castle Point, Chelmsford, and Southend areas, including home and community settings. You will build relationships, support daily tasks, and promote independence, with paid training and opportunities for progression.

Role requires a full UK driving licence and a caring, resilient attitude.

Qualifications

• You will be available to work a minimum of two shifts per week in home and community settings.
• You must hold a full UK driving licence to meet job requirements.
• You will be a caring, respectful person with excellent listening and communication skills.
• You should be comfortable with physical activity as some tasks require movement and exercise.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with people by listening, discussing, and planning goals together.
• Plan daily tasks and assist with practical activities like cooking and cleaning.
• Support with personal care, including eating and medication when required.
• Assist with days out and community activities requested by individuals.
• Help people become as independent as possible with their support.

Nexus Support Limited is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs aged between 16 and 45, and their families in the South Essex area. Covering - Basildon, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Southend. Days are spent supporting people to live a life meaningful to them. We provide opportunities to grow, develop new skills and to explore and enjoy new and established interests and experiences. This may include activities such as swimming, exercising, Health & Beauty and any preferred activities that individuals may wish to participate in within community settings and within their own homes. When not out and about staff are on hand for chats and advice to help when times become challenging. You will need to be available to work for a minimum of two shifts per week supporting the person at home and within the community. Shifts patterns include earlies, lates, sleep in and alternate weekends. You will work with young adults who have complex needs. We are looking for a respectful and caring individual who can passionately support our young adults to fulfil their potential. This is a sometimes-challenging role but one with huge rewards.
