Sense Scotland supports adults with communication support needs and/or physical and learning disabilities across Ayrshire. We currently provide Care at Home and Housing Support services to five individuals living in their own homes across Stevenston, Saltcoats, and Irvine.
Our support is delivered 24 hours a day through a variety of shift patterns, including early, daytime, back shifts, sleepovers, and waking nights. We pride ourselves on building small, dedicated support teams around each person, ensuring consistency, trust, and meaningful relationships.
Every person we support is unique, with their own goals, interests, and support needs. In this role, you will provide practical assistance with everyday living, including:
Some of the people we support communicate non-verbally, and their behaviours can sometimes present challenges. You will receive comprehensive training to help you understand and respond positively to individual communication styles and support needs.

While there will be opportunities for lone working on a 1:1 basis, you'll receive regular support from peers, supervisors, and managers. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as we provide a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and regular support check-ins.
